Critical Update: Q328310

This post is about the critical update Q328310. I've
tried installing this file from Windows Update. However,
the installation fails every time. I then search for the
KB article on MSKB and read article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;328310 it it provided information about the update. It
also provided a direct link to MS Download Centre. So I
downloaded the file directly and saved it to my hard
drive. However, when I tried to apply the update, I
received this error message: "Setup could not verify the
integrity of the file Update.inf. Make sure the
Cryptographic service is running on this computer." After
receiving this message, I went the services MMC and
checked whether the mentioned service was running. The
console reported that it was and so I restarted the
service. However, despite this, I still receive the same
error message.

I consulted the newsgroups and noticed many users are
experiencing the same problems.

I am runnning on Windows XP Pro.
