My hard drive is devided in 5 ntfs partitions. C is a boot partition and D contains my documents. For security reasons I made some folders private folders, so no other users of the computer could see the documents.
After severe system defects I decided to format c: and reinstalled windows XP.
After succesful installation i could use al my documents in the other partitions, but I have no acces to those private folders even not in DOS prompt.
I used the same username and password to login to windows, but unfortunatelly it makes no difference.

Can anyone tell me how to recover these documents?

Many thanks in advance,

Tom
