FYI - a cross-post goes to multiple newsgroups with one copy.
You seem to have posted multiple copies to multiple newsgroups.
You seem to be working from an old copy of the referenced KB article.
ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/misc/KB/en-us/301/497.HTM
version says to upgrade to the latest mdac 2.6 sp2 if you have a lower
version of 2.6, and the security bulletin ms02-040 and ms02-065
patch does have a version that supports application to mdac 2.6 sp2
However, this is all moot, since if you have XP you do not have
mdac 2.6 installed. Also, if you do not have XP where is there
anything saying that you cannot simply install mdac 2.7 which is
the preferred course of action ?
