Hi Harry,
Sorry to hear things aren't working for you. :-(

In order to burn a CD you sometimes need admin
privelages. It depends upon how your computer is set up
and how the software on it is configured.

Try this.....let's try and get you to be the
administrator.
If you go into control panel->admin tools->computer
management
Go down to the local users and groups section. Expand
that, and then go into the users area. Double click on
your user account. On the top of that window select
the "member of" tab. There I'd like you to click add, and
then type "administrators" and click ok. You cna then
click on the window for your user account that is still
open. Log off of the computer, and then back on.

Did it let you add yourself to the admin group?

Can you burn a cd now?
