XP Firewall is very good at what it does, but it's limited compared to Zone
Alarm.
The XP firewall is designed only to block unwanted incoming traffic, but
will not interfere with outgoing traffic in any way. This may be a concern
if you are worried about trojan horse programs and spyware, which probably
should worry you to some extent at least.
At the end of the day, ZA is free, so it should be worth your while to at
least try it and see how you get on. But using the Windows firewall as an
absolute minimum is probably a good idea, at least while you consider your
other options.
