Hi,
I recently was laid off and took advantage of the offer to buy the laptop,
docking station, etc. that I had used while an employee. It was configured
with a customized image of W2k Pro with company network security, startup
scripts and so on. I wanted to start over with Win XP Pro and, of course,
dump all of the old employer stuff.
I bought a full, retail copy of XP Pro, performed a 'full' install on the
laptop instead of and 'upgrade'. I was asked if I wanted to network with
the old W2k/Domain setup and I said 'NO' as I want to establish a
peer-to-peer workgroup with my other PC at home. I was never asked for a
password for Administrator; and, sure enough, after the install and re-boot
I come up to the same Ctrl-Alt-Delete logon screen with the old corporate
logo AND a list of all the old Domains to log on to AND the old corporate
button to reset my password AND the same old scripts run, starting up
programs I have no interest in.
How do I get rid of all of this without formatting the disk and starting
from zero?
Thanks!
Mark
