I have referred to numerous knowledgebase articles and the Practically
Networking links and believe hardware/software is setup properly between my
WinXP desktop and Win98 Laptop - I have succeeded with ICS, printer sharing,
but folder/file sharing continues to be problematic.

I believe WinXP is not accepting my credentials when logging on from the
Win98 laptop, as I can see all the shares in Network Neighbourhood but can
only access folders in which I left "everyone" in the permissions list. If
I remove "everyone" (leaving me as a user on the list), I cannot access the
folder. I've checked WinXP "Manage Computer" and under "Sessions" realized
WinXP is logging me on as a "Guest" and not the user with the same
priviledges I have on the desktop (Administrator/Owner).

Perhaps someone can give me very explicit help, as I can't for the life of
me see what's wrong.

My username and password on the desktop is Wolf
The workgroup is MSHOME.NET
I've entered wolf@mshome.net and the same password I use on the desktop in
"Manage Network Passwords"

At risk of repeating myself, the network and ICS has been working fine for
months, but file/folder sharing is not at all secure as I have to leave
everything accessable to "Everyone".

Hope someone can help!!

regards,

Wolf
