Hi,

At the place where I work me and two colleagues of mine
use the same computer which has Windows XP Professional
installed on it. Presently there is only one user account and
we all use that one. I would like to change this and create two
more accounts so all of us would have an own (system mana-
ger) account. But there is a problem...

When I simply created a new user account, and checked it
out, I sadly discovered that approx. 60% of the installed
applications were missing, and all the Windows settings were
the default (like after installing Windows XP). So the original
and the new user account were far not the same...

I would like three COMPLETELY SIMILAR user accounts,
which all have the same programs installed and all have the
same settings (later my colleagues can personalize their
account but we all need all present applications and settings).

So I copied the original user profile (I tryed around (really) 10
times...) and when it finally was "successful" it took Windows
35 minutes(!) to shut down and when next started it write me
lots of error messages and on the primary HDD I found two
directroies which was completely unaccessible (I even could
not look into them, but I found their space usage together
were mroe than 2 GB!). As Windows did many errors after
this I had to reinstall Windows XP... And after one week
trying and reinstalling we still have one account.

So finally my question: HOW CAN I CREATE TWO OR
MORE EXACTLY SIMILAR USER ACCOUNTS WHICH
CONTATINS ALL THE SAME PROGRAMS AND HAVE
ALL THE SAME ETTING LIKE THEIR ORIGIN ("parent
account")? I cannot beleive that after creating two more
accounts I should do all the settings also and install all the
programs again (2 times). This would take days. (And
what if somebody would like to do 10 similar user accounts?
Then install all applications and do all settings 10 times? I
cannot beleive. On the other hand I found no info on this topic.)

Please help me and please give me detailed (or even step by
step) instruction, because I don't want to re-install Windows
again...:-) Or if you know an article about this please give me
its address.

Thank you in advance very much.

P.S. I post this message to a few other newsgroups also,
because I really don't know which one this question shouéd
go into...
