I am running XP Home with 3 accounts, one of which is a limited user.
I have an HP Laserjet multi function printer/fax. This runs with
specific Jetsuite software rather than an ordinary printer driver. I
have only just obtained the relevant software for this printer
compatible with XP (after a bit of round the houses with HP) so it
should be up to date.
When the computer attempts to go into standby or hibernation we get an
error message "The device driver for the printer port logical
interface device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
Please close the application and try again. If the problem persists
you may need to update this driver." The message can be cleared by
pressing enter, but we then lose the mouse so have to close and
restart to get it back.
One way round the problem is to stop the computer automatically going
into standby. This I have done for the admin users, but when I log on
as the limited user to try and change their power scheme I get "access
denied".
Anyone any idea how I can change the power management or have any
other solution to the printer problem.
