Please visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/catalog web site, can you
get the web page?

Select Tools->Internet Options menu in Internet Explorer window. If you are
using a LAN connection to connect to Internet, please click on the LAN
connections button, do not check all these proxy options.

Yes I have uninstalled and re installed the IE 6 SP1 and
it has not helped problem.
