They were likely playing with the computer and changed the new admin account
to a limited account. The Administrator default account is hidden. Do a
cold boot and hit F8 to get a logon window and boot to safe mode...the admin
account will be shown, use the proper password and get in, reset everything
and be sure they both have limited user accounts for day to day use.
Dell may have used a blank password or have some other...you can get the
password Dell used when they shipped the computer, hope it hasn't been
changed.

| A friend from work just bought a used Dell from another
| co-worker. I attempted to set it up for her so she was
| the administrator and her daughter would have a simple
| user account. I changed the original owners
| username/password to the new owner and also set up the
| user account. It worked fine for awhile but now I'm all
| of a sudden locked out of the admin account. The new
| admin account is listed as "limited"...any help would be
| greatly appreciated.
