I am running Windows XP home edition.
I have Service pack 1 installed.
I have a Dell Dimension 2100.
Problem is that I have need to run the recovery console.
But when I boot in to the recovery console and select the
volume I am asked for an Administrator Password. I have
tried everything I can think of to no avail. I then read
a knowledge base bulletin about the administrator account
is only visible when in safe mode. I start in safe mode,
assign a password to the Administrator account. I can
then use this password to access the administrator
account while in safe mode. I then attempt to run the
recovery console, when prompted for the password I enter
that password and am told it is invalid.
Can someone tell me how to get or set the administrator
password for the recovery console it is quite obvious
that it isn't reading the user accounts from the computer
or I would not be posting this message now.
Going absolutely insane, send answer or send the men with
the white jacket cause I am gonna need it!
Thanks!
Carmen
