No account names appear on XP login screen

This managed to solve itself by using SAFE mode (pressing
F8) and getting back into the system set-up screens.....
Also, on questioning others around here it developed that
the account name had disappeared because of using
Microsoft PowerToys. I looked at how that program
operates and it surprised to see it gives no warning
before it "hides" what is the ONLY identity on this
system; thus leaving no identities on the login screen.
