I just upgraded a Win98 machine to XP Professional. Now each time the
computer is started I am presented with a classic Windows login dialog
asking for User Name and password. I then have to press enter with the
password field empty to start XP.

I have removed the Password from this account and do not understand why I
am still presented with this dialog.

During the course of the upgrade there was an issue where the install was
not completed properly and I had to retireve the password from the
setupacct.log as described in KB article 318026
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;318026). After
doing so I deleted the password from the single account that exsists on the
machine.

Anyone got any insight into the cause of this?
