Windows XP Firewall

I have the same problem as Tim now, and following Rick's
suggestion only elicits the same error message. My
firewall was working until I disabled it to install
McAfee VirusScan (but not McAfee Firewall). It has
refused to restart since, even after I uninstalled McAfee
as a diagnostic measure.

Any ideas?
