Network Drives - Access Denied

Hey,
   my problem is that on network drives, some files which
have been opened up on windows XP, which hosts the drives
files, denies other users from accessing that particular
file. It is a shared folder, and from what I can see, the
permissions are set to full-read write.

The files are not in use, but become access denied after
a user has used a file on that network driver using the
XP machine. The other computers on the network are
windows 98, which is being affected.
