My original post does mention that I waw aware of this article, but I have
the following questions in that regard:
1. It seems to be referring primarily to problems logging on to Recovery
Console when it is *installed* on the Hard Drive, and the instructions
include installing it if not already installed. My situation is not being
able to get in when booting from the XP CD. It wasn't clear to me if this
fix applies to my situation. RC is not currently installed on my system
(and I don't really need it there).
2. The article refers to "To resolve this problem immediately, download the
fix by clicking the download link later in this article" but there is no
link to the fix anywhere in the article that I can find.
3. My system was purchased new in the spring of this year, while the patch
seems to *pre-date* this by many months. Wouldn't it already be present on
my system. I have also installed all the critical and relevant System
Updates via the Windows update site.
So, *if* this really will fix my problem booting from the CD, where do I get
it?
Many thanks again for the reply.
