If you have an AOL account, make sure you use Internet Explorer when going to Windows Update site.
Windows Update problems should be posted into newsgroup ** microsoft.public.windowsupdate **

The Microsoft Windows Update team does monitor and participate there actively.
If you were to look at the Windows update log, it may have an entry (entries) with Error that
would help to pin-down your pc's problem with Windows Update on-line functions.
