I'm not sure what you mean by Pop-Up Spam, but do yourself a favor and DO
NOT wait on the SP1 install. Without it, you are highly vulnerable.
Also, download AdAware 5.0 from Lavasoft at:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/aaw.html
Run it and remove anything it finds. I've have been using AdAware since the
new release of version 5.0 and have had no complaints.
On the note of leaving your machine on, unless your running a server and
have a good firewall, it is not a good idea. Shut it off dude.
*Note
Make sure you do a full back-up of your system before you install SP1. I've
haven't run into any problems, but many have. Also, shut down any
applications running {including the Windows Task Scheduler} in the systray
as they will interfere with the installation.
