I am sure this is a simple thing to fix but after reading
everything I can find on user accounts, I am unable to
fix this problem myself. In Ctrl Pnl/User Accts, I have
Barbara (not password protected) and Guest Acct. In Safe
Mode, I also have the Administrator Acct (password
protected). The problem I am having is this: If I have
Welcome Screen checked in "the way users log on or off"
then when I start my computer in the morning, it
says "Windows is starting up" but nothing happens. I
manually shut down. To fix this problem, I rebooted and
went into Safe Mode, Ctrl Pnl, User Accts. and unchecked
Welcome Screen, clkd Apply Options. Now my computer
starts with the classic logon prompt (Right?) and I have
the 2 dialog boxes: first one is Logon to Windows and it
is covered immediately by second box - Logon Message
which says "Unable to logon because of an account" I
click OK and it disappears. The Logon to Windows box is
there and it has Administrator for Username. I hilite
this and change it to Barbara, clk OK and voila! my
desktop and stuff comes up. What could be the reason for
this Logon Message about "...because of an acct"? What
do I need to do so that when I start my computer, the
Welcome Screen with my name/icon shows up? Hoping
someone can help PLEASE!
