Have you tried leaving password blank?
According to the Status "This problem was first corrected in Windows
XP Service Pack 1"
Q308402 will not fix it since this issue has been resolved with
Service Pack 1.
I do not think the Recovery Console is available with all OEM
computers, Gateway may not have supplied it.
