Hello, yet again, everyone.

Because no one has responded to my description of this
problem, I will assume that few people have read the
message or that the problem is too perplexing.

I am having enough such "minor" problems that I am
seriously considering reinstalling XP Pro from scratch. I
worry about the cumulative affect of such "nuisances."

If you have ANY ideas and feel that I reinstall is too
drastic, please reply at your earliest convenience. (I
have a dual-boot sytem with Windows 2000 Professional and
2k Pro is rock-solid stable compared to XP Pro, but I
paid the full retail price for XP Pro -- the only way
that I could do a clean install -- and I need 2k Pro for
Oracle 8i and some other programs.)

I offer my deepest thanks, in advance!

In utter desperation --

Cordially,

David
