Hi, I'm writing to ask about a couple of problems I have with windows xp pro
and roaming profiles.
If I create on the server a global account that should use roaming profiles
then it works just fine when I log in with the windows xp workstation. And I
have no problem with that.
The problem comes when I create a roaming profile for guests global users in
the domain. If I log in from the windows xp computer it does not use the
profile I created and stored on the server but it uses another one (that I
believe to be a sort of default one)!
And when i log off the guest account locally stored gets deleted (which I
think is supposed to be so, at least if you have joined a domain).
What I noticed is that if I log in with administrator rights and get into
the accounts control panel and create a new user (specifying the domain name
and exactly the same account name of the guest account I created on the
server) then I can login in the windows xp computer by using the guest
account and finally obtaining exactly the desktop profile I stored on the
server. The problem is that by loggin off the changes made to the desktop
are not stored back on the server so that when I log in again I only get the
old roaming profile with no changes.

So my questions in the end are: isn't it possible to use roaming profiles
with guests account? If it is, how?
What's the main difference between Users accounts and Guests accounts?

Thanks in advance for your cooperation
Gianluca
