JJ,
Puzzled as to why you singled out HP or Compaq to contact the manufacturer
before installing SP1... I have an HP PII-350 (6370Z) that took SP1 without
any problems. The only differences from the standard machine is the memory
(192Mb) and a 16Mb PCI Video Board. I did the upgrade over cable; although,
I did order the CD, just in case. Could have made the CD from the Network
Download, but I was too lazy to do the procedure and burn my own upgrade CD.
I've kept up with all of the HP and XP updates and the only problem I ever
had was with one of the Microsoft Video Driver updates--which I think
everyone complained about... Cheers!!!
