it is very possible to get a virus from a website. They
can come through active aplet controls. or any number of
ways. While its true most people get viruses from
downloading something and not checking or the virus
scanner not catching it. But to protect yourself while
surfing. Make sure your antivirus software supports real
time scanning. Norton 2002, has it; Macafee has it; and
my personal favorite PC-Cillin 2002. Pc-cilin also has a
firewall built in, and provides file scanning, real time
scanning and email scanning. the real time scanning scans
all the time (when enabled). it scans your websites,
cd's, floppy's, or anything that is going on. NO matter
what is scans everything. SO just make sure your software
supports real time scanning. As far as scanning a website
if its yours, you can scan it before you upload it. other
than that i am not to sure on how to scan a site without
using real time. THer is a way but just not sure.
