Create a separate User for each of you in Control Panel User accounts.
Set a password to your account. (any administrator can do or undo
anything, so control who is an Administrator)
Do not forget the Administrator account in Safe Mode.
You need NTFS File System, if not already, change this way:

If you have Windows XP Pro, disable Simple File Sharing:

If you have Windows XP Home, make folders private:
