Mark;
There is some logic to what I suggest and I do not disagree with you..
First I realize we all have our own opinions and experiences, so
suggestions will vary accordingly.
I normally do not suggest updating/scanning automatically to people
whose habits I do not know.
Many would set it for 3:00AM (or other odd hours), there computer is
off, so updates/scans never get done.
I have no idea how many people I have talked to who had a virus and
thought the updates and scans were automatic.
2 weeks is a long time and maybe I should rethink what I suggest.
My original thinking was that every month is good enough, human nature
being procrastinators, I suggest 2 weeks to get them to run it and
hope for at least once a month.
If there are to many things to do to often, human nature kicks in and
none may get done.
I myself update at least twice a week and scan about once a week.
Hopefully I do not sound like a hypocrite, I am just trying to take
into account what people (unknown to me) may or may not do.
I do say "at least every..." in my statements.
