According to the law, daylight saving time begins on the second Saturday in
October. If it began at midnight between Saturday and Sunday then it would be
begin on Sunday. Technically midnight belongs to no day. It is a moment
dividing one day from another. Just as noon is neither AM nor PM. Here is an
excerpt from the Chilean law:
Supreme Decree Number 1,489 (6 October 1970) - This law, enacted during the
presidency of Eduardo Frei Montalva, declared that Daylight Saving Time will
advance clocks by one hour, beginning the second Saturday of October, and ending
the second Saturday of March. Chilean time is administered by the Chilean Navy's
Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service (SHOA).
Don't you have something better to do in Canada than reset your clock? You
should have chosen one of those countries with half-hour time such as Iran,
India or Australia.
