I have the same issue with my Mustek scanner. I can get round it by using
Photoshop with the 'run as admin' command. But no-one with a limited user
account can and I'm not willing to give admin rights.
Bit of a pain in the arse really, considering there's not many security
problems you can cause with a scanner........
