I recently bought a new Dell PC with Windows XP Home
software installed. On my previous PC, I had installed
Norton Internet Security (Norton Antivirus, Firewall,
Parental Controls, etc) and gave it to my son.
My new Dell shipped with Norton Antivirus, and I
understand Windows XP has some level of firewall
protection.
Before I got my new PC, I found I was averaging about
three notifications a week that a Trojan Horse was
attempting to access my PC.
I'm familiar with Norton Internet Security, but not that
familiar with Windows XP. Does the Windows XP software
provide an adequate level of protection? If I add Norton,
will it interfere with the security already designed into
the Windows XP operating system? I will probably buy
Norton Internet Security regardless to get Parental
controls.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Mike
