i dont work for MS,
boot the xp machine first (it will want to be the master browser anyway)
glad you copied the files, install xp on both or win2k on both and be happy,
strange, but i've never had any issues like this between xp and 2k before
and i use both daily and networked together via normal/wireless and cross
over network cables
