Password Protect Folders in XP Home

As a workaround for the lack of ability to password protect specific folders
in XP home you can use a 'trick' that will usually keep the average user out
of your files.

Login as Administrator in safe mode, access the security settings
"properties > security" for the folder you want to protect and specifically
"deny access" to the profiles that are running on your machine. An extreme
option would be to deny access to all "users and administrators" effectively
making someone have to be able to get into your Administrator account and
"take ownership" back on the files to get access. Although not nearly a
foolproof method, it will stop your average browser (that doesn't know your
admin password) from rummaging through your files. It's definitely not a
quick fix for files you access often but will keep your data sealed until
you need it again...
