Hi Terry,
No, it seems to me your making unfounded assumptions.
But first, make sure your VirusScan is version 6.02.3000

Having all the accounts setup first is a good idea.
Though I cannot see how adding a new user will cause a problem.

It is known that you must have administrator-rights to setup McAfee (as you usually have
to have for installs).
It is best to setup under "the" "Administrator" user.

and as far as updates, you ought to have an administrator-rights user do it.
