The * check for server certificate revocation * needs to be OFF . If it is selected, it will not do good, but ill.

I simply meant to click on that link, and that gets you to the site. It uses Secure Sockets Layer.
My usual advice is to first use the Windows menu and select Windows update. If not sufficient, then use the HTTPS link.

I think you have a FIREWALL or something else causing a blockage or you have disabled active scripting or disabled ActiveX.
You ought to try turning off firewall. If you have Norton Internet Security it may be set way too high. Try turning it off.
