The other way of protecting your files is to encrypt it using EFS. On XP
Pro, you simply have to go to the "properties" of the file, select
"Advanced" and then "Encrypt content to secure data" and your file/folder
would be encrypted. Ofcourse if you want some other people to have access to
your files then you can always use NTFS permissions to specify level of
access for different accounts.
