Win XP Pro and Win 98 are networked as a 'Workgroup' through a router. The
Win XP Pro can access resources on the Win 98. But the Win98 can not access
resources (C:, printer, etc.) on the Win XP Pro. Simple file sharing is
disabled and the resources are enabled for sharing on XP Pro. I am an
'Administrator' who logs onto Win XP Pro and I am logging on to the Win 98
with the same logon name. When I try to access resources on XP Pro from Win
98 a window pops up: "You must supply a password for this connection." When
I supply my XP Pro Password (or any other password I can recall using in the
last 15 years) I am told it is the wrong password and asked to try again.
When I go the un-accessible resource on XP Pro (from Win 98) and R-Click for
Properties I am told: "You don't have the appropriate access rights for the
server."

This all occurred after an ATT repair technician came out to my house to
problem solve a connection issue with my Motorola Cable Modem. They declared
the Motorola Modem faulty and put in one of their RCA Cable Modems.
According to my wife they were messing around for quite a while trying to
get it working. When I got home the XP Pro was disconnected from the router
and was connected directly to their modem though the NIC. I have not been
able to get my network going since then. I was told by my wife that they had
trouble with ZoneAlarm Pro--which I run on XP Pro--which has not prevented
networking unless the IP range of the networked pc's are not allowed. At any
rate does anyone have any ideas with is preventing me from gaining
access????
