I formatted my hard drive and installed WinXP Professional
clean. Everytime I add soemthing new (i.e. go to windows
Update and add any new file that requires reboot) I die on
reboot with a STOP: error pointig to the ntdll.dll file.
the only way I can get past it is to rollback to "last
known good configuration"
I can get in via safe mode, but that seemed to kill my
rollback once, (and required a reinstall of XP) so I
stopped doing that.
How can I debug this???
none of my WindowsXP updates get installed since I have to
keep rolling them back, plus it's annoying.
this motherboard and hard drive have hosted Win98, ME, and
2000 Pro with no problems. Is XP a cursed OS????
Looking forward to some useful questions for clarification
and answers.
Regards,
Michael Larson
