Drummy:
No I understand completely the innocent nature of your posts. In my
experience Outlook Express does not follow the link and show uplevel posts
if you have they have been marked as read and discarded. That is why I from
time to time, do a complete flush and reload of newsgroups I post to make
sure that the posts are still visible on the news server itself before reply
to a post. There is nothing wrong with going through a third party to read
Microsoft News; I just like to connect to the source. Since typically
Microsoft tends to keeps posts longer then most all other newservers who
grab Microsoft news.
Hope this helps,
Alan
