Thanks for your help. Both pings worked fine with server
name as I'd been using it and ip address I had. I think
I found some help here "Q299531" as there appears to be a
conflict between my NT 4.0 server and Outlook 2002. It
describes the same problem where you can ping but outlook
can't resolve the server name. It wants me to install
something called an RPC Configuration service which I'll
try tonight when I can reboot the server.
