can`t open my old PRIVATE folder on NTFS hard drive

I have a very very big problem and i need help.
i'm using windows XP home edition opration system on a
partition C. I used partition D as (My Documents)
folder,i've made this folder PRIVATE .Yesterday,i have
formated the C drive and i've setup a fresh win.XP on C.
After the setup completed,I went to the D drive to open
my old folder(my documents),BUT the access was denied.

What can i do,please do not say there is no solution,all
my photos,music,universty files is there.

Please tell me what to do.
