Profiles are individual users (the one you select when you log-in)
Rebooting to Normal Mode is just rebooting and not pressing F-8 to get
to the Start-up menu.
When you restart the computer, do it normally, log-in as a user
(profile) that you know is an Administrator.
Then go to Network Connections, right click on your network
connection, click Properties and see if there is an Advanced tab.
