Well.. this one has me worried. I've got about 6 gigs
worth of important data in my My Docs folder, and last
night after a reboot my XP installation decided it didn't
like booting any more. So I booted off an ERD 2k recovery
cd-rom and moved the My Docs folder to another name, then
reinstalled XP. Now I can't get to my files! They're
there, but I get Access Denied. The user (from the
fubar'd install) had administrator priveledges, I
believe. I am trying to manipulate them logged in as a
normal user but in the administrative group (does that
mean the user has the same administrator powers?) help
please! i gotta get access to my files back.. how do I
get XP to access them? it's the same username and
everything..
I already tried to xcopy a folder or two off of my
recovery cd, and the data is intact but I don't trust
this xcopy executable to copy -every- file, so I want to
find the Right Way(tm) of doing this, as it's all about
maintaining the integrity of my files.

thanks
