access code denighed

when installing new software from a computer magazine i
discovered that when i restarted the computer i was
refused entry as the computer could not check it's self
and generated an error code 0x80090019. Is there a simple
solution? once in, i can deleat the offending new
software. i could wipe the disk clean and start again but
i dont want to loose my work.
