Well, there's at least one obvious thing you're missing:
Boot into Safe Mode (remember, this is XP Home, not Pro!) and turn off
Simple File sharing.
Just as an FYI, another of your posts indicates you got infected by a
virus; why don't you have up-to-date anti-virus software installed????
