Just for your information, XP comes with ACPI and
non-ACPI installations.
Since your current OS version is installed with ACPI,
if you disable ACPI in BIOS, windows will not boot.
If you decide to stay with non-ACPI, leave it disabled
in BIOS, and re-install the non-ACPI version of XP.
