accessing hard disk

Hi, I recently got a new computer with Windows XP. My old
computer burnt out, so I moved a hard disk from my old
computer (windows 2000) to my new computer (windows XP).
Whenever I try to access the disk on my new computer, I
get a message: access is denied. Only a couple users had
access to the hard drive on the windows 2000 computer, but
using the same user name and password I can't access it at
all in windows XP. Does anyone have any idea how i can
get back into this hard drive?
