Here's how I fixed that problem on mine. I had a partition that was created
by a different OS and after settings up XP I couldn't access the files. My
solution was to use partition magic on that partition to convert it to FAT 32.
This strips the security descriptors and allowed access to the files. Later I
copied the files to a different partition, reformatted the troublesome partition
and transferred the files back. All is well.
