please help recover my files

Last night, I rebooted my computer because AIM hung. When
i rebooted, i just got a black screen. I tried safe mode
and command prompt. Nothing. So I installed a new
installation on windows on the same partition, in a
folder called Windows2. That installation went fine. Now
my problem is, I NEED to get my documents out of my
original installation, which is still there. Obviously,
without being logged on that user, i cannt just copy and
paste them because i cant access that users folder. What
can i do?? Its becoming more unstable everytime i reboot.
I know im going to have to format the whole thing soon.
There must be a way to get my files. Someone please help.
