Okay, I know what your problem is, but I don't know how to
fix it. Your description tells me that the syskey program
has been used to set a password on startup. After 3 failed
entries of this password, the computer reboots.

I use syskey myself (via the password option actually...
who would chance having to have a floppy disk?!) and find
it works great. Well.. now that I have stated the problem,
I hope somebody else can give you a solution. Good luck!
