Recovery console, cant login!

i have windows xp home edition, when i try to use
recovery console i cant. i try from install cd and the
recovery console is installed on my hard drive, when i
try to login it asks me for administator password, i
enter the CORRECT password, and it wont let me, i change
administrator password in safe mode so that there isnt
one, and it still wont let me go into recovery console, i
change it again to something simple and it wont let me
login to recovery console, it just keeps coming up as
invalid password even though it is correct, and Case is
not the problem, trust me, i enter the correct
administrator password and it wont let me login, i even
tried passwords for other users of the computer(owner and
another user) please help!!!! if you cant help me, then
how could i go by formatting my hard drive(i cant login
in to recovery console remember) to install windows xp??
please help!!
